Install Shelly pro 1PM in switchboard to replacement mechanical timer

Job image

Job description

General Electrical
Christchurch

We have a hot water that was using a 16A fuse in the main switchboard. That was replaced with a DIN mounted mechanical timer when solar was installed last year. For convenience of changing the timer settings we wish to upgrade that mechanical timer to a Shelly pro 1pm 16A smart switch on the DIN rail We have the Shelly pro 1pm --- The seller indicated that this ERAC site should be sufficient to show the product is legal and safe for NZ install: --- = --- c- --- concern is that it mentions "incandescent lamps" in the ERAC. I don't know if this means it is only installed for incandescent lamps however. Seeing as our hot water cylinder is less than 16A I presume it is ok. (but I am not a electrician obviously :)). Of course only wish to proceed if legal and safe. I'm attempting to get a SDoC and/or certificate from supplier, but don't know what will eventuate from that, as they indicated ERAC is sufficient. Once installed we will use the web interface of the product to control the on/off times. This will be done over wifi, so no ethernet connection is required. So in theory the job is to take out mechanical timer on the DIN rail, replace with the new one, check it's up and running, is connected to wifi and the overload trigger values ( if any ) are set correctly. It might be worth noting that it has a few options for how to physically connect up. Timeline: Any Monday or Tuesday in last half of June (we should be free of COVID by then)
