Hi, we've been away for a few months after the quake, we live in Brighton where the power was off for some time and then on generators, during this time our hot water cylinder stopped working and a sparkie came and disconnected the line that allows the power company to turn on and off our hot water and then it worked perfectly again. Since we have returned the electric stove went pop and no longer works and the refrigerator won't turn off at the wall and is freezing everything regardless of settings and now 2 computers in the house not linked are not starting up and going into power save mode. Something's wrong with the electricity me thinks! I've spoken with EQC and I can use my emergency fund however I am also having some plumbing and carpentry work done. Ideally I'd like EQC billed direct.
