Electric Leather Recliner

I need repair of the electric recliner i have recently purchased, although the electric motor sounds with the depression of the buttons to open and close recliner, the unit struggles to open and close, if I assist it by hand it is able but not without manual assistance. I Have checked hardware underneath to ensure nothing loose or missing - looks good but I suspect the slide mechanism to pull and push recliner in and out is worn - worn teeth cogs??
