Refurbishing our windows

We live in a c1970 house in which the windows have been only generally maintained over the last 20 years. We would like advice on what is required to bring them up to scratch given that many of them are now weathered. Water tightness has been an issue on some windows. There are approx. 4 small windows (90 x 80 cms), 13 medium 9150 x 120 cm) and 9 large windows (240 x 120cm), and approx. half of these are north-facing and therefore the most weathered.
