Sliding Door Installation I have a new double glazed sliding door that needs installation. The old slider has been taken out, but not the non sliding part and frame. Dimensions approx 2m by 2.3 metres. The new unit is rather heavy and is currently on the back lawn. It needs two guys to carry it up - and I am sorry I can't help the lift as I have a heart condition. It is quite a heavy lift as it is double glazed. The unit is designed to be flush with the house floor and has an extra wooden frame for this purpose. A new step is needed, which is smaller than the old one. (I reckon the step should best be put in after the door. It has all been measured up by the door manufactuers, so it should be a fairly sraightforward . But you need to have done the job before. I reckon it needs two guys. I can help a bit if you like, or not at all if you prefer! (but can't lift, so two guys needed. A reasonable hourly rate world be OK, You might want to have a look first, rather than just relying on the photos, fyi I am 3 mins from titirangi village., In the photos the unit will protrude to about two inches from the old step, so a new one will be easy.
