Door into an internal wall

We have a wall that we want an internal door put into that will join our self contained flat to our house. Our house is about 9 years old. We have a standard door to use that matches the other doors in the house. The door frame is also part of the door we have. As far as we are aware, we would not think there would be any wires in the wall as there are no plugs or switches on either side...however, you won't be sure until the gib is off I guess. There is carpet on both sides of the wall. We want a clean and tidy finish, gib stopped and skimmed, but we will finish the painting, as we still are not quite sure on new colours etc yet. Photos are of green wall in the house, the door waiting in the garage, and the white wall in the flat. While I have put the suburb of Greerton, we are located lower Oropi on Phillips Drive.
