Repair to French doors

French doors (Kitchen)- bottom rail separation. Main doors from Kitchen out onto deck area - Main thoroughfare. Swell with wet weather and constant slamming to shut has caused damage over years. Now hard to close and lock . Cannot open /close at all after 1-2 days rain currently. Otherwise been well maintained and no rot (yet) want repair before re painting. Have contacted one company - said replacement of both sides only option. $4k. Not in a position for this type of financial outlay. If a repair is possible - would like this attended to as soon as possible so can be painted before next winter.
