Job image

Job description

General Demolition
Christchurch

- Demolition and disposal of concrete in ground swimming pool and adjacent concrete block boundary fence. - Supply of hard fill for pool and fence foundations and covering with top soil. - Supply of all other services and materials, including site management during physical works, in preparation for lawn sowing, by others, and to minimise any future ground subsidence. Pool: approximately, 9.4 m long, 3.3 m wide and 1.4 m deep. Fence: approximately, 38 m long and 2.3 m high (above ground height) made of 90 mm thick concrete blocks. Access to pool and fence is via a Christchurch City Council Reserve, preliminary discussions have already been completed regarding access via the reserve. The successful contractor may be asked to meet with the council on site to discuss methods to mitigate reserve damage during physical works, this requirement is yet to be finalised. Successfully contractor would ideally have previous experience with pool demolition and back filling. Experience in working with the CCC would be advantageous. The pool and fence need to be removed during this summer when the reserve is at its driest to avoid unnecessary damage. All works should be completed in one uninterrupted package of work. A building consent for the pool demolition has been granted the details of the consent can be provided upon request. At this stage I am keen to gain an indication of price/rates and availability of resources to complete the above work. Happy to discuss further either over the phone or on site. (If you know of a reliable fencer who is able to erect a replacement wooden paling one shortly after the original has been demolished then I would be keen to know about that too)

CTC was refreshing to deal with after many false starts with 'other' excavation contractors. Chris and his team kept me in the loop and were able to deliver on what was agreed, when it was agreed. Unexpected below ground problems were highlighted early and discussed together so as that everyone was on the same page. Their subcontractor they used to erect the replacement fence outperformed expectations also. Cheers
