We have a log-fire ready for installation but the area needs to be prepared first. This will require removal of concrete chimney (below roof to floor), removal of present fire surround, mantle piece etc and disposal of waste. This area previously had an inbuilt log-fire. Will then need preparation of area for free-standing log-fire which I imagine will need a concrete slab poured, tiled and edged and making good of walls with possible heat-proofing needed. There may also be some associated plumbing needed with raising of adjoining hot water cylinder for 'wet-back'/ water booster to attach to log-fire. This may incur some additional building work with moving of shelves etc in hot water cupboard. Property tenanted and fairly urgent requirement to provide some decent heating for winter. Estimate 2 - 4 days work? Installation of actual log-fire already assigned to contractor.
