Grind concrete under ranchslider; apply waterproof sealant

I have a two storey home in Kamo. On the deck, I have a standard-sized ranchslider / sliding door. The deck is concrete. When we have extreme rain, water is leaking through the concrete deck into the bedroom below (renovated garage converted into bedroom below the deck). We need to grind under the ranchslider because it's not high enough off the wet deck. Waterproofing sealant is expensive so it would good to get the price of this down. Perhaps we can carve some grooves into the deck to let rainwater run off more quickly.
