Job description

General Concreting
Waitakere

RETAINING WALL The concrete retaining wall at the front is leaning and needs removal and replacing with either similar material or a wooden structure (I'm guessing wood will be the cheaper of the two, so will probably head in that direction - see 2 images for style). The current wall is approximately 12m wide on the road frontage, and about 5m up the sloping driveway. It is approximately 800mm high. A standard new letter box will be provided, and will need to be installed. PARKING PAD At the same time I'm looking at creating a parking pad for one car in front of the house. To help keep the space looking a little greener, it could possibly use paving that lets grass grow through (see attached). However, depending on costs standard paving or concrete could be a better option - am open to suggestions. I'm guessing the size would need to be approximately 6m long and about 3 or 3.5m wide (I would like to be advised if this is ok for a standard car space). To give an idea of scale, the house is approximately 9m wide. I would like these two jobs quoted separately.

This retaining wall job was in Auckland. As I was based in Australia it was important to find a builder who was comfortable communicating by email and phone, and without myself onsite. Darryl was very prompt in providing a quote. I also found Darryl easy to deal with and he offered advice which both helped save money and improve the design of the wall. The wall was sturdy and well built. A job well done.
