Polished Concrete Flooring

We live in Cambridge and want to replace our existing carpet and cork floor in our kitchen, dining and living room with polished concrete. We believe that it is on a concrete slab, but don't know if it will require another layer. Approximately 90 to 100m2. We would like some ideas and quotes.
