Remedy very smooth and slippery driveway

My driveway has an extremely smooth surface due to a coating applied at the time of the concrete being laid which causes it to become treacherously slippery in the wet regardless of mildew mould or anything like that. I am seeking a remedy to this so that it is no longer so slippery. The driveway is approximately 160 square metres.
