Job description

Concrete Driveways & Paths
Hamilton

Basically, we got a subdivision consent and need to complete the shared access to get title. I have attached the accepted engineering plans. We have since got an easement over the neighbours side, so instead of constructing just the one new strip from the road, were going to replace both existing strips (two only). I have circled the length of these strips – a little over 63m long. We need to replace this like for like, as per our agreement with the neighbour re the easement. The approved site plan shows the 3m wide concrete through the front lot and the concrete within the rear lot. I have marked up with some rough areas. This has had some prep (sand and Gap 40 – been rolled but a bit was dug up to put in the second soakhole so will need some more prep). I have pushed the edge of the concrete just past where the new garage is going. We won’t be doing this in a hurry so I figure we form just past it for now then trim it back for the garage footing when we’re ready. We were thinking of a smooth finish for the full width areas (for scootering, skate boarding) and for it to be a darker shade so we don’t blind ourselves looking at it. I’ll take your recommendations there. The two strips out to the road can have a rough finished (brushed?). I’ve had confirmation that we can reduce the specified concrete thickness to 125mm and to use the steel fibre reinforcing instead of the mesh. Please have a look and come back to us and we can discuss organising a site visit, finishes and whether you see any room to reduce some of the quantities or specs.
