There is a pit under our front door deck which engineer has advised to fill, to stabilise the concrete block foundation wall uniform shrinkage and movement. Non-uniform shrinkage in the exposed below ground level blocks through hot & dry summers, has resulted in vertical crack and front door jamming etc. Photos show the deck involved and the pit underneath requiring compacted clay type fill, to bring up to a uniform ground level consistent with the area alongside the deck. Before filling, the exposed Concrete Blocks require a clean and 3 fresh layers of Flintcote to seal / moisture barrier. Access to the under deck to complete the work may require lifting & replacing some of the decking, unless you are able to access adequately to clean, paint, fill and compact from the side?
