Spagetti Bolognaise stain on carpet

Hi we have a large stain on our carpet caused through a plate of spaghetti bolognaise being upset on carpet. We initially tried to use soda water and plain water with a small amount of detergent to remove the stain. The orange stain has gone but now there is a dark patch on carpet. We would like this treated and stain removed please.
