Repair of a small carpet burn

We've had a small wood burn on a new cream carpet...not down to the underlay, but the top layer of wool down to the mesh has been melted away. We've cleaned as best we can, but a mark approx 1inch by 2 is visible (photo attached). I'd be interested in understand how this would best be fixed to leave no trace...we have plenty of spare carpet available.
