Replacing a weatherboard (reopened)

Job description

New Cladding
Wellington

Reopening job as the person we hired had to cancel. One of our rusticated cedar weatherboards needs replacing. The reason for the replacement is rot at the corner of a window frame. I had a builder friend remove the rot and it looks like the underlying flashing goes beyond the rot, so the only work should be replacing the board itself. We've treated it with wood hardener to buy us time until we can get it fixed. I've attached photos showing the relevant area. The right-hand corner of the left-hand window is where the board has rotted away, but the right-hand corner of the right-hand window is feeling soft also, so it may be best to simply replace that whole length of weatherboard. There are also a couple of windows round the back of the house with a similar issue but not as bad, which we are hoping to just patch up ourselves. However we have no way of checking above the upstairs windows, so we'd like someone to bring a ladder and take a look. If it turns out there are more upstairs that need patching or replacing, then we'd likely just pay to have them all fixed professionally.

All really nice guys. There were a few little issues that needed tidying up afterwards but Nathan came and sorted it when I told him about it. Nathan kept the cost down as much as he could which was much appreciated. The job ended up being a lot bigger than initially planned but the guys were really flexible and able to fix most of the other bad weatherboards we found.
