Re-clad upper storey of house in cedar board and batten

I am wanting to know the price to re-clad the upper storey of my house in board and batten. It is a smaller space upstairs approximately 8x4 metres with a large ranch slider taking up the majority of one outside wall. It is due to be repainted and I wanted to compare the cost to get it re-clad for a more architecturally pleasing look. It is currently clad in a fibrolite type sheeting that has been given a textured look. I am wondering if the board and batten can be just put over the top or whether the current cladding must be removed
