We're first home buyers and are looking for estimates/quotes/costings to remedy the following points listed on the pre-purchase builders report: "A lot of the corner soakers and flat soakers are rusting, probably because they weren’t properly primed/undercoated at the time of construction. To permanently fix this problem the soakers should be replaced with stainless steel soakers. There are also timber beads that have been fitted beneath the aluminium windows to bridge the gap, the nails that were used to fix these beads on are also rusting, you could try punching the nails beneath the surface, renailing the beads with galvanised or stainless steel fixings, filling the holes and repainting but if this doesn’t work the beads would have to be replaced. There are also a lot of areas where the boards have split and the paint is peeling off, maintenance painting to me looks overdue and these defects are the result. I recommend the whole cladding system be repainted as soon as possible. A lot of the nails that are used to fix the flat soakers in place have popped so need refixing."
