Patch carpet where a hearth has been removed

We have removed a corner hearth approximately 1.4m by 1.4m and need to have some spare carpet fitted into the space. The carpet piece we have is too narrow to cover the area but long enough to cover it in two sections. We have matching underlay available. A carpet layer visiting for another job said it should take about two hours for this one. Please give an indication of the lead time before you could do this job.
