We live on a hill in Lower Hutt, and have had problems with water ingress into our lower floor. We have two rooms that need either the carpet replaced or repaired - we are looking for the cheapest option! Our plan is to lift the carpet in April, waterproof the floor and lower walls, and then relay the carpet. Potentially if the carpet is in good enough condition to keep, it could be cleaned, patched in quite a few places & refitted, probably with a new underlay. One of the rooms is 23m2, and the other 8.5m2. The tricky part may be attaching the carpet to the waterproofed concrete, because we can't break the seal once it is waterproofed.
