Carpet Removal

I want to remove the carpet and restore the original wooden floor. The house was built in 1947 and is in good condition. The wooden floor under the carpet is most likely rimu. I believe that the carpet was nailed on a wooden frame and there are insulating panels in between. The house is 100m2 and in the living room there is a free standing fireplace fixed on the carpet, so it will need to be temporary removed when fixing the floor.
