Deck feature border installation

I need some decking installed in the places where I have removed mondo grass bordering. The existing decking is a hardwood and is in approximately 4 meter square blocks, separated by the gaps that now need to be covered. I’m thinking it would look good to use a contrasting hardwood timber or maybe a black composite decking material for a new feature effect.
