Carpentry for new deck railings

The front deck has no safety railings or balustrades. Would like to copy the style of wooden battens on the house and have a waist-high balustrade around the inside edge of the wooden platform at top of the steps. And battens added going down the four steps going down from the platform and with a safety handrail (which could also be wood). I do have quite a few shaped battens left over from doing the panels on the house exterior.

The guys did a great job of building two safety balustrades with rails to match the house. They have since been stained to tie existing pre-stained rails in with the new wood. Very pleased with the overall strength and look.
