We need to replace the decking timber cladding and joists on our existing deck (see original plans in photos). The deck itself (approx 50m2) was built 15 years ago using untreated macrocarpa cladding. We have replaced some rotten pieces and have discovered that the joists feel spongy to touch. We hope that the existing bearers and piles are able to be reused. There are three pillars and three large macrocarpa seats that need to be built around. We would prefer wide cladding (about 138x32) and are open minded about whether that is pine or composite material. For this quote we would like prices for both materials and a quote for labour only as we may be able to access cheaper decking timber through work contacts. We are happy to do demolition ourselves and removal of demo material.
