2x cantilevered decks - repair and add flashing system
Job description
Hello, I am looking for a licensed Builder to help repair and remediate 2 small upstairs decks with a flashing system where the deck joists go back into the house. Both decks are cantilevered with no support posts. A builders report has suggested the following approach given the risk of leaks (there is some evidence of this happening). Hopefully someone can help with adding the flashings as well as fix anything else around the decks that has been affected by this or in need of repair. We do have scaffolding available. "I believe the best way forward would be to remove the weatherboard above and below the cantilevered deck joists, install a saddle flashings system, then replace the boards, the wall lining in the front door should be removed and any swollen/decayed timber should be replaced and if, when the Gib or weatherboards are removed further framing decay is found this will need replacing. This work should be carried out by a Licensed building Practitioner."

Highly recommend Steven and the team at Two Pines Builds. They did phenomenal workmanship on a tricky second story deck project - including a full rebuild and adding several flashings to prevent water ingress from the joists into the house. It was a can of worms with rot, and some of the ceiling being a part of the deck. Nothing was a problem for Steven, he found solutions for everything to remediate at a reasonable price. The team works really hard and were a pleasure to have around.
