New - wardrobe renovation and wall insulation

We live in a 1950's house. Two adjacent bedrooms each have an inbuilt wardrobe, which are next to each other within the wall. Each has a single small door into it's room. We would like to combine and open up this wardrobe space to make one big wardrobe in the smaller of the two rooms and close the door on the other side. We would also like to insulate the walls of the bedrooms.
