Kitchen bench top - addition

We have a kitchen bench with an ‘upstand’ and would like to explore if possible to make it ‘flat’ - ie add the extra piece on to the side so can sit stools under the edge. Bench in good condition otherwise, no issues. Can take more photos, measurements as needed. Would like some idea of if possible and quote to do - unlike to go ahead if expensive or means while new bench top.
