Job description

New Cupboard Doors
Banks Peninsula

We are currently converting a large cupboard in our bathroom into a laundry. We will be putting a laundry tub and washing machine in the lower half (tub visible in the photos, washing machine to go to the right of this). We will also be putting in a condenser dryer on the shelf above the washing machine. We need unimpeded access to the laundry tub which currently is not possible because of the mid height horizontal self beam used to stop doors from closing, and the shelves above it. So this is what I think we want done: 1. We need a full access to the laundry tub which is on the lower left hand side of the cupboard (visible in photo). This means removing slightly less than half of the horizontal mid height beam that currently exists there. I suggest putting in a vertical wooden support from the remaining half of the beam down to the ground. There must be at least 600mm width in the remaining space so the washing machine can fit in the gap that is there. I also suggest putting a piece of timber from this mid height point to the back wall to take the shelf above it (which will need to be cut down to the correct size). This shelf is where the 43kg condenser dryer will go (above the space for the washing machine. 2. In the now empty space above the laundry cabinet and sink, build or install some shelves. Maybe use the existing ones cut to half size and fix to wall. We will paint the finished work in the existing colours so we need a carpenter who can figure out how to do this and do it with the right timber. Work needs to be complete before 14th April 2019.
