Wooden shelf/desk

Hi, We are wanting a shelf built into an alcove in our bedroom that we will be able to work at so it needs to be strong enough to hold computers etc. We like the idea of using solid wood and a material similar to the two beams that are running diagonally down the wall. The length will need to be approx 260cm long (approximate guess at this stage) Width around 4.4cm Depth around 43cm Please see picture of space (ignore our clutter!) Thanks :)
