Wood panel stain & varnish

I need some wood panel walls stained. About 8 m2 in total. I had already put one coat on without any trouble. It was a satin finish, light in colour. Decided it wasn't what I wanted and got a darker gloss finish stain/varnish. Did one small panel without any trouble but when I went to do a big panel it was a disaster. Patchy mess. Tried to even it up with turps but failed and gave up. Need someone with EXPERIENCE in staining and varnishing to come and fix up the panel that I messed up and then finish off the rest of the panels not yet done. Need this job finished by the end of the week.
