Vent flashing or reinstallation

We failed our final inspection for our new bathroom because of the external opening for the venting from the bathroom fan. The inspector said that it should have been cut into the weatherboards. He also said he would pass it if flashing was installed. As you can see in the photo the pitch of the roof is fairly steep. We are keen to get this work done urgently as we need the Certificate for the Code of Compliance to get a top up to our mortgage.
