Job description

General Building
Wellington

The roof gables at Karori playcentre have some damage and need to be replaced. Ideally we are looking for someone to remove and reinstate the gables including any painting or other work required. They are fiber board cement and based on the age of the building they are assumed to have asbestos containing material although they have not been tested. The material is solid (non friable) and is less than 10m2 so this work can be done by an unlicensed removal person we expect responsible handling of all material. Extra points to consider: 1) The Northern gable has mains power joining at the gable and will need to be removed as part of repairs. 2) The southern gable has a roof vent that will need to be reinstated, 3) When the boards are repaired a new appropriate panel should be installed and painted. 4) As playcentre is in constant use it is best if the work is undertaken in school holidays when playcentre is closed. 5) The roof pitch is modest and clad in colour steel but access is only from the roof. 6) Any work carried out regarding the removal of the gable ends is to be undertaken in accordance with any relevant standards, or other legal requirements (e.g. regulations) that apply to asbestos removal.

Was a great help, flexible around timing so we could sort funding and did the work over a few days in the school holidays. Happy to work with again.
