Job description

General Building
Wellington

I live down a right of way in Box Hill, Khandallah, Wellington. The right of way is concreted and in bad repair but that's not my concern just now as I share it with two other households so would have to negotiate with them, and one of the houses is currently on the market. However, the concrete directly in front of my house is cracking and in bad repair. Also, I bought a new clothesline a short while ago and stupidly asked for it to be installed in a different place from previously. Now I want it moved again, as I've realised it will be in the way of feijoa trees I planted when I moved in 18 months ago. I'm open to suggestions and ideas for the concrete work in front. I've had one quote, involving removing all the existing concrete from the gate to the house, and replacing. Perhaps this is the best idea, I don't know. However, I'd appreciate another quote or two. The quote I've had allows for 150mm thick in driveway area and 100mm in pedestrian areas - although as I don't park the car on that area I guess that's not that important. There is a small retaining wall which should probably be replaced as well. I also wondered about simply filling in the cracks, maybe with plaster, but that would probably look patchy, and I suppose subsidence would continue. Anyway, I look forward to responses.

I'm very pleased with the work that Cameron and his helpers did. They did the job quickly and without fuss, and were always pleasant. They've come back since to do the stress cuts and lay some pavers. They weren't able to lay them all as I'm now having the house painted and there's scaffolding in the way, but Cameron was laid back about it and I'm to let him know when the way is clear.
