Job description

General Building
Wellington

During a DIY bedroom reno we've discovered some rotted studs. It looks like the original moisture issue was resolved by a previous owner during recladding (weatherboards/building paper is intact and there is some flitching on the studs). Everything now seems dry but the rotted studs remain. I'm looking for advice from an LBP about the best course of action, whether the current solution is ok or needs to be supplemented or whether the wall needs to be reframed. We also have some other building tasks which depend on costs above: Moving a bedroom doorway to be flush with the hallway Removing a wall in the lounge (non load bearing wall) Widening the doorway to the kitchen (load bearing wall)
