Decking/French doors

Job description

General Building
Wellington

Published: 2 February 2009

Landscaping Building We want to get a deck built off the kitchen in a single story house. There is about 6 meters from the back of the house to the back of the property where there is a concrete crib wall which retains the property. It is about a 3 metre drop down to the neighbours house. This drop is not fenced. The back yard has some concrete and is there is likely to be rubble and fill in the ground. We need a set of french doors (yet to be purchased, looking at second hand ones) to replace the current kitchen window which is about 2.4m wide. The deck would be at the same height as the kitchen floor, about 50cm from the ground at the house and about 1m at the back of the property as it slopes slightly. The deck would be about 25sqm (5x5) and we want two sides to have raised planters against an existing fence and at the back of the property. A fence will need to be built along the back of the property above the retaining wall, about 12-13 metres long and 1.2 high, plain paling would be fine.
