Standalone garage in weatherboard

We have a 6 x 10mtr standalone Totalspan garage that we want to replace with a weatherboard garage. The property is in Whangateau (between Matakana and Leigh) It is on a concrete base but we will get this skimmed if required. We would like to know if we will require building consent or what else will be required - replacing like for like and hope to have this done by Christmas if possible otherwise during the summer would be great.
