Laundry modification

We would like to have our clothes drier fixed to the wall above our washing machine and have a duct installed to carry the drier exhaust outside. At present the machines are side-by-side, and there is no ducting for the clothes drier exhaust to go outside (we are using an extendable piece of ducting and running this out the door or into the adjacent bathroom). Depending on the feasibility, we would also like to look at getting a door placed across the laundry so that we can shut it off from the house (right now the laundry feeds onto the hallway without any kind of partition). Cost isn't so much an issue as is the practicality of inserting such a door.
