We want to repair the first floor cladding on 3 sides of our home. The existing cladding is individual shiplap/vertical board and we envisage the repair will involve replacement of like with like of all full length boards. The ground floor is brick veneer. In plan view, the building is tee shaped comprising a 2 level main block and a small 1 level block that butts into it. Bisecting the 2 blocks, there is an under-utilised, cantilevered balcony. We are considering removing this permanently. We wish to employ a seasoned LBP who has extensive experience working with Porirua City Council as a CONSULTANT, in the first instance. The brief will be to examine relevant building elements, review our ideas and discuss constraints and ideas so that we are informed and prepared for the next stage of enlisting a draft person, if required.
