Building work to remove cladding to enable re waterproofing - small part of roof

We require new waterproofing on part of our roof. We therefore apparently also need to remove the cladding and provide new cladding, building wrap, apron flashing, chase flashing and paint new weatherboard. Weatherboard would need to be supplied also. We understand this is the only way to meet the building code correctly?
