Fireplace Alterations

Looking to alter the fireplace arrangement in my house by removing a built in wood burner and opening up the fire area in general allowing me to install a newer wood burner. This would mean removing part of the existing wall and revealing the chimney plate and creating an opening below forming an arch or square detail depending on existing build.
