The problem appears to be the ‘join’ between the first and second storey, where the “flashing” is incorrectly installed – basically a plastic sheet has been glued and nailed on top of the weatherboard and tiles at the base of the second story instead of proper flashing installed underneath the bottom weatherboard. It seems to only leak when there is horizontal rain coming from the north. 2 Roofing companies have said they can't do it and it needs a builder to remove the weatherboard and install proper flashing underneath.
