New garage to replace old carport/tool shed + driveway extension + fixing fence

We currently have a boarded up carport near the house, and a small toolshed at the back of the property. We would like to demolish both, then extend the driveway a few metres so that the garage can be built at the back of the property, which also allows room for a new gate, so we can get a car/trailer in if we need to (not currently possible). The fence at the back of the property also needs looking at - it's an old concrete wall whereas the rest of the property has a nice fence. For the garage, it would be a single garage, perhaps 7x4m ish in size. I don't know anything about the planning or consenting process, so would need some guidance here. The photos below show the current carport (and weird shack thing) and the last photo shows the toolshed at the back of the property.
