New deck approx. 7x9m

We would like to replace the existing brick patio area that has a deck extension, with a new deck. The area is approximately 7m x 9m, and would like to have the steps on both sides. We would like to bring the deck to the level of the sliding doors (see picture), so potentially deck on top of existing structure? The brick planter in the middle will be removed. Please note this is for my parents in Hamilton who are available for on site consultation from 6pm onwards.
