The job is to build internal access from the main floor to the basement. The main floor currently has a hall cabinet and a disused hot water cabinet. This is the space I'd like to use to build access to the basement. The stairs would lead to a room in the basement that is about 2m tall. I will need advice on what exactly can be done and how, but the way I see it, the job involves: - removing the hall cabinet, - removing a pile and replacing with some other form of support, - I imagine a new concrete retaining wall is needed for the side of the stairway, - install a few new piles and a beam to support the other side of the floor after part of the floor is removed for the stairs, - a section of concrete needs to be cut to allow access to the basement room, - remove part of the floor to make way for the stairs, - build stairs, - build wall and install gib in stairway I have attached some very approximate drawings to give you a better idea, but you will have to see it.
