Sealing off the back of a timber framed area under the house
Job description
We have a rat/rats in our basement bedroom ceiling. We have tried to exclude them with ply outer barrier at deck edge, but what is needed is for the outside of the timber frame (underneath the house) to be sealed off. There is adequate space to move around but it requires someone more agile than us oldies to do this job. We have sealed half off the 8 m stretch of building where they can access, but the balance area is too hard for us to do - we need a young person experienced in such things. We also need the rats captured/trapped before it is sealed off (plenty of pest management people that can do this). THe downstairs bedroom was excavated into the hillside and when built the builder built a timber frame inside the block wall. The block wall went to just above the adjoining ground level under the rest of the house. The builder unfortunately did not think about blocking off entry to the framed area so they have a somewhat easy access in, some of which we have sealed off. We have galvanised tin sheeting to nail into place over the entry area, just need someone able to do the work - it will be a bit of a grubby job! Estimate it would take someone 2-3 hours, perhaps less.

These guys were amazing, a challenging task they handled with ease. Great communications, turned up when they said they would. Did the work to a high standard. Professional and highly recommended. We will definitely be using these guys again when next we need a builder. Happy to use materials we already had, and for me to source product, though this possibly cut their margins. A great team.
