Remove and Refit Bathroom Mirror Cabinet

I have an old bathroom mirror cupboard that I would like removed, and replaced with a new more modern one. The original cupboard is inset into the wall, so may require some gib work. Images attached are of current mirror cabinet and also of potential replacement (not purchased yet). Open to suggestions of best way to achieve this.
