Water damaged window frame and sill

We have an aluminium window with a wooden interior. Unfortunately it seems the rubber seal failed years ago in result has cause what seems to be localised rot to the window sill and framing (the gib has not been removed to see the full extent). We have removed some of the rot and want to know what is required to fix the damage and whether it would be appropriate to have the existing window resealed or install a new one.
