Repair Fireplace Surround and Floor

I removed an old fireplace hearth and facade from inside the house only the outside is still in place. I have a hole in the floor that needs repairing and I want to make sure the covering of the old fireplace that is remaining is safe and compliant. I have replacement tongue and groove floorboards I need to make sure that the floor is installed and supported properly.
